When it comes to decor values and deciding between a contemporary or traditional rug what do you prefer?You know I'm Turkish and I love rugs. When you choose the right one it coordinates with current furniture styles and colors very well. If you are lucky to have wooden floors in your home, floor rugs are perfect compliment.
Rug making is an ancient art that is relaxing and fun. I tried to make a few knots once and really enjoyed it.
There are two basic knots of rugs;
The Turkish 'Ghordes' Knot which is typically double- wefted
The Persian Knot which is typically single- wefted
Hand made rugs are expensive but totally worth the money. If you are looking for good prices and largest selection of one-of-a-kind rugs anywhere you can find discount area rugs online.
I would so love to have wood floors, rugs look so pretty against them. I tried making a braided rug once.

we have Persian rugs all over the house. Even though they are "bossy" to decorate around, I love them!
ReplyDeleteI have wood floors so we have lots of rugs... I never spend much on them because with 3 kids and a dog they don't stay very clean.
